# Octez v25.0~beta1 has been published

A first _beta_ version of Octez v25.0, `v25.0~beta1`, is now available.

Unlike a release candidate, this beta version should not be expected to become `octez-v25.0`. It contains the necessary features to participate in public test networks, notably the Ushaiaet testnet.

**Octez v25.0~beta1 includes:**

- Support for the Ushuaia Protocol proposal (See the [protocol support release documentation section](https://octez.tezos.com/docs/releases/version-25.html#protocol-support-v25)), currently subject to on-chain governance.

- Deprecation of Octez packages (See the [Octez packages release documentation section](https://octez.tezos.com/docs/releases/version-25.html#octez-packages-v25))
