Release Candidate (Version 9.0~rc2)

A second release candidate for the next release (9.0~rc2) is available. If this release candidate proves to be stable, it will be released as version 9.0.

The first release candidate (9.0~rc1) introduced a new protocol environment (V2) which is required by Florence, the current protocol proposal. It also contained Florence itself as well as its daemons (baker, endorser and accuser), and the configuration to join Florencenet, a test network for Florence.

This second release candidate (9.0~rc2) fixes a performance regression introduced in 9.0~rc1 and allows to bypass the cap on the connection count which was added to 9.0~rc1. It also includes the fixes that were released in version 8.3.

We invite you to test this release candidate, for instance on the Florencenet test network, and to report any issue on Issues · Tezos / tezos · GitLab so that they can be fixed before the release.

Full changelog and update instructions are available in the version 9 release page: Version 9.0~rc2 — Tezos (master branch, 2021/04/15 10:05) documentation

The Git tag for this release candidate is v9.0-rc2 and the corresponding commit hash is 238328a8040618d2499910155d4ae08c2f217581.
