20 day old ERC20 meme cryptocurrency PEPE has now surpassed the market cap of the 5 year old XTZ cryptocurrency

what is going on?

is the token economic design of the Tezos native coin flawed? demand keeps going down.

I’m worried that it goes to levels where it impacts the chain security.

What are the mechanisms in place to make sure that the token is doing well ?

Nothing has really changed? People love to gamble on meme coins. Look at dogecoin and shiba inu.

Adaptive inflation would reduce issuance.
