Announcing Etherlink 6.6: a security hardening kernel upgrade proposal

A new Etherlink kernel upgrade proposal, Etherlink 6.6, has just been submitted to Etherlink’s Fast governance mechanism.

This is a security hardening kernel upgrade proposal.

Should the governance vote be successful, Etherlink 6.6 will activate on mainnet on Saturday, 18 July 2026.

The kernel upgrade proposal (0083d8142e9c5f2a35ead6eb31d6344f3803f90eacb03ccfb6c482df353f85908a) has already been injected in the current proposal period.

Proposal period vote: fast governance period 509, spanning between L1 levels #14,083,489 (July 16 08:31 UTC) and #14,088,288 (July 16 16:36 UTC).

Promotion period vote: fast governance period 510, spanning between L1 levels #14,088,289 (July 16 16:36 UTC) and #14,093,088 (July 17 00:40 UTC).

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Remember that Etherlink fast governance periods last ~8 hours, which means bakers would need to vote up to two times within 12 hours to participate in both votes.

Bakers can cast their votes in a few clicks with Etherlink’s governance explorer UI, or using TezGov. We provide further voting instructions to vote with Octez CLI below.

Proposal Period (fast governance period 509)

The Proposal period vote will start at L1 level #14,083,489 (July 16 08:31 UTC) and will run until #14,088,288 (July 16 16:36 UTC).

You can upvote the Etherlink 6.6 kernel upgrade proposal using the following Octez CLI command:
