Octez v24.0~rc1 and v23.3 have been published!
Octez v24.0~rc1
Octez v24.0~rc1 is the first candidate for Octez v24.0. If this release candidate proves to be stable, it will be released as version 24.0.
We invite you to test this release candidate on the Shadownet, Seoulnet, or the Tallinnnet test networks. Please report any issues you might find on the tezos/tezos project on Gitlab, or on Tezos Discord, so that they can be addressed in time for the release of v24.0.
Protocol support. Version 24 is compatible with all protocols that depend on a protocol environment version up to V15. That includes the recently announced Tallinn protocol proposal.
Protocol agnostic executables. Version 24 starts the deprecation process for protocol-dependent baker and accuser executables, and they will be removed in v25.
Bakers should consider adopting the new protocol-independent baker and accuser executables introduced in version 23 right away. The new binaries allow for a smoother baking UX, as they are capable of operating with any supported protocol, and can work seamlessly across protocol upgrades.
Full changelog and update instructions are available in the version 24 release notes.
The Git tag is `octez-v24.0-rc1` and the corresponding commit hash is `60afd4da`.
Octez v23.3
Octez v23.3 increases performance of DAL nodes and improves baker stability. It prevents the baker from running in a degraded mode.
We invite bakers to upgrade to this latest Octez release for a smoother baking experience.
Full changelog and update instructions are available in the version 23 release notes.
The Git tag is `octez-v23.3` and the corresponding commit hash is `f2e46dca`.
New Releases page. A new Octez Releases website is now available at https://octez.tezos.com/releases/. It replaces the Gitlab Releases page, which is now deprecated.
This new Releases page centralizes release information for the different Octez components developed on the tezos/tezos Gitlab repository: Octez, Grafazos, Teztale.
Moreover, it provides predictable links to assets (for instance, https://octez.tezos.com/releases/octez-v23.3/binaries/x86_64/octez-v23.3.tar.gz), a machine-readable releases summary file, and an RSS feed.
