Octez version 24.1 has just been released!
NB: Octez v24.0 remains the minimal version of Octez compatible with the Tallinn protocol upgrade, which is set to activate on Tezos L1 mainnet this Saturday, January 24th, just before block #11,640,289 (around 15:48 UTC). Operators already on v24.0, do not need to upgrade to v24.1 as this release addresses reported issues encountered while building Octez from sources and importing snapshots.
Octez v24.1 addresses two recently reported issues with v24.0:
-
A downstream
opamdependency issue that can prevent bakers and operators from building v24.0 from sources in certain setups. v24.1 makes the opam cache the default archive provider when building Octez from sources. This ensures operators can build Octez without disruptions to their deployment infrastructure. -
A regression in the snapshot import mechanism in v24.0, which made the process slower than usual. v24.1 restores the usual performance of the snapshot import mechanism.
Bakers and operators running still on v23, or those who plan to import a snapshot ahead of the protocol activation, are advised to adopt v24.1 as soon as possible.
See this earlier Agora post for further information on how to get ready for Tallinn’s activation. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need our support.
