If I choose not to reboot and run in the updated storage mode. Will my node still benefit from some of the other optimized features highlighted in the “Changelog section” such as the shell, baker, codec, etc.?

The answer is no. You will need to update in order to benefit from these features.

Hi @Lindw0rm,
In theory nothing is mandatory. However, it’s possible that by the time the next protocol upgrade gets activated there might be no other implementation to choose from!
