Version 14.0 of Octez has just been released.
Version 14.0 adds support for Kathmandu, the protocol proposal currently going through the governance process, and which is a candidate to replace the economic protocol currently active on Tezos Mainnet. You can test it on the Kathmandunet test network, which is now included as a built-in network – i.e. it is known to the node and can be joined using --network kathmandunet
.
Version 14.0 also prevents its client from originating new smart contracts containing Timelock instructions. This is intended to discourage the use of Timelock, for which a vulnerability was found in the current implementation. A fix addressing the latter vulnerability is in development, and more details will be provided in due time.
If you are updating from Octez version 13.0, note that version 14.0 changes the storage format. Run tezos-node upgrade storage
to update your storage. This upgrade is instantaneous but the data directory can no longer be used with version 13.0 once upgraded.
Full changelog and update instructions are available in the version 14 release page: Version 14.0 — Tezos (master branch, 2022/08/01 13:22) documentation
