:mega: Octez v21.3 has just been released!

Octez v21.3 introduces a new option in the Octez baker binaries, --without-dal. With this option the baker won’t try to connect to a DAL node.

This option is not mandatory, but a warning will be triggered if not used while running a baker without connecting to a DAL node.

:warning: NB: The next major version of Octez (v22.0) will require that baking software is started by

  • Providing the RPC endpoint of a running DAL attester node with the --dal-node option,
  • Explicitly providing the --without-dal option otherwise.

We recommend Tezos bakers not running a DAL node yet to adopt the usage of this option in their deployments starting with Octez v21.3.

Furthermore, Octez v21.3 introduces technical improvements to the Smart Rollup node, especially to its use for the Etherlink EVM nodes.
