octez-v25.0~rc1, the first release candidate for Octez v25.0, has been published.
v25.0~rc1 is believed to be stable and may be released as version 25.0 after a period of broader community testing.
We invite you to test this release candidate on the Ushuaianet test network. Please report any issues you might find on the tezos/tezos project on Gitlab, or on Tezos Discord, so that they can be addressed in time for the release of v25.0.
v25.0 includes:
-
Protocol support for Ushuaia. Version 25 is compatible with all protocols that depend on a protocol environment version up to V16. This includes the Ushuaia protocol proposal, which is currently undergoing the on-chain governance mechanism.
-
Deprecation of Octez Deb (Debian/Ubuntu) packages. Starting with v25, installing Octez binary packages will display a deprecation warning. Linux distribution packages will be removed in v26.
Additionally, v25.0~rc1 includes the following changes compared to beta1:
- Smart Rollup node. This release candidate includes several improvements to the snapshot import command, fixing a performance regression, adding a --dal-node option for compact snapshot reconstruction, and making commitment verification more robust.
