Octez version 25.3 is a maintenance release focused on robustness and reliability:
-
Smart rollups: stricter validation of smart rollup refutation operations.
-
Baker: consensus handling is more robust, both in how (pre)attestation power is counted and in when the baker votes on a proposal.
-
Node and libraries: input decoding is hardened (Base58, DAL attestation data), so malformed inputs are rejected cleanly.
-
New RPC:
GET β¦/context/smart_rollups/all/signalslists the signals the protocol has recorded, each with the level of the block that recorded it. -
Packaging and CI: fixes to Homebrew, deb/rpm repositories and release publishing.
We recommend that all node operators and bakers upgrade promptly.
Package deprecation notice
Based on feedback and observed usage of the existing packages, and as part of our ongoing efforts to simplify Octez distribution and installation, the following deprecations are worth noting:
-
Homebrew packages: Deprecated as of this release and scheduled for removal in Octez v26. Homebrew users are encouraged to build from source instead.
-
Debian and Ubuntu packages: Already deprecated since v25.0, these packages will also be removed in v26. Users relying on these packages are encouraged to migrate to tzinitβs packages. See the migration instructions for guidance.
