Tezos Domains: secondary market, 3 and 4-letter domains, and more

Secondary market, 3 and 4-letter domains, and more

Now that Tezos Domains reached well over 17,000 registered domains, let us give a short update about what’s been cooking in the meantime.

Secondary market

We are really excited to share that our secondary market platform for Tezos Domains has been launched today.

You can list your domains for sale on the detail screen of each domain you own. For now, listings can be made for a fixed price only.

Each listing can have an expiration date and can be canceled at any time (as long as no purchase has been made by another user).

App translations

The Tezos Domains app is now available in six new languages: Chinese, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian, and Russian. Japanese and French languages are coming soon. The language will be automatically selected based on the in-browser preference, but it can be always changed on the settings page.

Launching three and four-letter domains

We’ve prepared the launch of three and four-letter domains for November 1st and October 1st. The launch schedule is available on our website.

The auctions will work the same way as for 5-letter domains: there is a three-week auction period and auctions are automatically prolonged if a bid is made near the auction end.

Because the number of three and four-letter domains is limited, they will be priced higher than 5+ letter domains:

  • five-letter domains and longer are still priced at 1 tez per year

  • four-letter domains will cost 25 tez per year

  • three-letter domains will cost 100 tez per year

The starting bid is the same as the price per year.

New features coming

We are also planning a bunch of new features in the near future, among them:

  • Expand the options for secondary market based on user feedback (for example new types of auctions).

  • Allow renewing multiple domains in one go, a fairly popular request among the users.

  • We are coming up with our own public Tezos nodes to expand the node selection available within our app and improve stability.

About the team

The team at Agile Ventures has been working with Tezos since the early alphanet days. We have worked on numerous open-sourced projects focused on helping developers interact with the Tezos data and events more easily and are hosting publicly available endpoints at TezosLive.io. Currently, along with Tezos Domains, we are also working on Dappetizer and TezGraph.com in cooperation with ECAD Labs.
